The vision, foresight and passion to preserve and perpetuate the Arabian horse in Qatar led His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Father Amir, to establish Al Shaqab in 1992. In honour of his ancestor, Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, he located the Arabian breeding farm at the Al Shaqab's battle site, where a pivotal battle that led to Qatar's independence took place more than a century ago.
Within an amazingly short period of time, Al Shaqab bred three World Champion stallions - GAZAL AL SHAQAB, AL ADEED AL SHAQAB and MARWAN AL SHAQAB. Today, champion offspring of these stallions enhance the pedigrees of Arabian horses in Qatar and worldwide.
In 2004, Al Shaqab became a member of Qatar Foundation with the mission to promote the highest standards in the breeding and showing of Arabian horses and provide innovative, educational and competitive opportunities in all the equestrian arts. Based on three guiding principles - Excellence, Education and Heritage - Al Shaqab began a visionary expansion in 2006 with the development of a world-class equestrian centre. Currently, it is the most true example of passion and success in the Arabian Horse world.
Services
Al Shaqab sells the semen of their best stallions worldwide through an agent. Al Shaqab also organizes course that help breeders and owners, such as judge courses and discipline committee coursse. In addition to this, Al Shaqab offers free breeding to the Qatari breeders to support their breeding program.

* MENTON ARABIAN HORSE SHOW 2019 *
A great result for ZUHAYR AL SHAQAB (S.M.A. Magic One x Kahlah Al Shaqab) at the Menton Mediterranean & Arab Countries Arabian Horse Show 2019. He achieved the SILVER CHAMPION YEARLING COLT Title alongside Giacomo Capacci.

* WELS INTERNATIONAL B SHOW 2019 *
Al Shaqab shone brightly at the Wels International B Show 2019. Here the impressive results:
- HURRAYMILA AL SHAQAB: Bronze Champion Yearling Filly;
- ARSALAN AL SHAQAB: Silver Champion Yearling Colt;
- TE AL SHAQAB: Bronze Champion Filly;
- RADAD AL SHAQAB: Silver Champion Stallion.

Al Shaqab is glad to announce the arrival of AL AYAL AA for the current breeding season. A sire that needs no introduction and that will certainly make an impact on Al Shaqab’s new generation.
We are all looking forward to seeing the results of this addition in Al Shaqab's breeding program!
* NEW ADDITION FOR THE NEXT BREEDING SEASON *
Al Shaqab welcome AL ZEN AL DIN MA for the next breeding season: a 2010 Grey Stallion by Nadel Al Jamal and out of Zena Al Buraq. He was bred by Osman El Kasasi and now owned by Mohamad Al Kasasi.
* MARINA DI PIETRASANTA ARABIAN HORSE SHOW 2019 *
Second show of the European season for Al Shaqab, with six horses showed and four medals:
- GHALLIBA AL SHAQAB: Gold Champion Junior Filly & Best in Show;
- TE AL SHAQAB: Silver Champion Filly, at her first appearance in Europe;
- AQIL AL SHAQAB: Gold Champion Junior Colt;
- THAMAMAH AL SHAQAB: Silver Champion Senior Mare.

Meet the new generation of Al Shaqab that has been achieving impressive results all around the world.
* MILAN INTERNATIONAL B SHOW 2019 *
Al Shaqab’s results at the Milan International Show 2019:
- ARSALAN AL SHAQAB: Gold Champion Yearling Colt;
- SABAH AL SHAQAB: Silver Champion Colt;
- RADAD AL SHAQAB: Silver Champion Stallion.
Arsalan and Sabah, both sired by SMA Magic One, represent the new generation of Al Shaqab. Radad Al Shaqab, instead, was for the first time in the European show scene looking better than ever.

* LAS VEGAS ARABIAN BREEDERS WORLD CUP 2019 *
The beautiful KASHEF AL SHAQAB by the great Marwan Al Shaqab and out of Psyrella was awarded the GOLD CHAMPION JUNIOR COLT Title at the Las Vegas Arabian Breeders World Cup alongside Michael Byatt.

AL SHAQAB NEW BREEDING PROGRAM SUCCEEDING!
The new generation of Al Shaqab Stud has started. A completely new breeding program established on different bloodlines has already started to achieve great results: very promising foals got the first place in their championships and Siwar Al Shaqab (Yearling Filly) and Zuhayr Al Shaqab (Yearling Colt) achieved the Gold Medal too.
